Another collab between Onkyo Direct x DanMachi has been announced. Featuring earbuds styled after Ryuu and Syr, the collab will run from December 20, 2024, to February 14, 2025. The buds are available via preorder on the Onkyo Direct website and certain brick-and-mortar stores. Limited merch based on the collab’s visuals, such as acrylic stands, posters, and tin badges, will also be available.
The Onkyo Direct X DanMachi Ear Buds Let You Hear Your Waifu
The collaboration focuses on DanMachi’s fifth season and includes Onkyo’s AOW01 earbuds, which will arrive in a collector’s box featuring the waifu of your choice. They will include voice memos from either Syr (VA Shizuka Ishigami) or Ryuu (Saori Hayami), which will play when you press select functions.
Syr’s version features a light grey color scheme on the earbuds and their charging case. The case displays DanMachi‘s logo, while the outer part of the earbuds features Freya Familia’s crest. The box is kawaii enough to be a collector’s item in and of itself, as it features Syr in a modest vintage-styled collared button-up dress that matches the motif of the earbuds.
Ryuu’s version comes in an obsidian-colored charging case and features the Astraea Familia’s crest. The ear pod’s box features Ryuu in an elegant green dress with a sheer top and ponytail. And as a huge Ryuu fan, I can’t articulate how much it means to see her dressed as something else than a hobo.
The preorder price of the earbudsis ¥20,000 (~$128 without shipping). The collab’s acrylic stands retail for ¥1,200 (~$8). Its tin badges retail for ¥500 (~$3.50). Onkyo is a known Japanese brand specializing in home cinema and audio equipment.
What Is Danmachi About?
Asking the question, “Is it wrong to gaslight an adventurer until he loves you?” The fifth season of DanMachi covers the light novel’s Goddess of Fertility arc. It sees Bell, the Hestia Familia, and allied families set out to give the Freya Familia a beatdown after their namesake goddess tried to control the whole of Orario to make Bell fall for her. The J.C. Staff-animated show is simulcasting on HIDIVE.
