A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special anime has released the 3rd trailer ahead of its October 7 release date. The new video previews the ending theme song “6 wo Naderu” by Momosumomosu, and the announcement comes just about a week since Aniplex Online Fest 2023 where we got to see the 2nd trailer for the anime and the release date. The A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special anime is produced by Arvo Animation and directed by the studio’s president Taiichi Kawaguchi. The rest of the staff includes Takamitsu Kono as the series composer and scriptwriter, Hiromi Katou as the character designer, Kenta Higashiooji as the music composer, Eiji Iwase as the art director and Takatoshi Hamano as the sound director. The main cast for the anime includes Takuma Terashima as Desir Herrman, Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schnaize, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Romaintica Elle.
A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is based on a web novel by So-nan Yu and Uk-jakga, which was first published on KakaoPage from September 2016 to August 2019. It also received a webtoon adaptation with illustrations by Wookjakga, which KakaoPage started serializing in May 2018. It is published by Piccoma digitally and Kadokawa Shoten in print in Japan.
Yen Press has licensed the manga in English, and they describe the story:
Shadow Realms have ravaged the earth and decimated almost everyone in their way. The survival of humanity hinges upon the success of just six mages, including analytic fighter Desir Herrman.
