Ai Higuchi’s “Akuma no Ko” which serves as the 7th ending theme for the Attack on Titan anime has surpassed 30 million streams on platforms all over the world. The song currently has over 16 million streams on Spotify alone, while a special music video that features scenes from the anime has over 8.9 million views on YouTube.
The official Twitter account for the singer and songwriter posted the announcement earlier today along with a thank you message:
“Akuma no Ko” was released as a single on January 10, 2022. After the release, the song ranked on multiple charts, both in Japan and worldwide. The creditless version of the ending theme with animation by Contrail (MAPPA’s subsidiary) has over 12 million views on YouTube. Ai Higuchi wrote and composed the Attack on Titan ending song, which will also be included in her 4th album. The new album, first after her 2-year hiatus, is titled “Saiaku Saiai” and set to release on March 2.
