Anna Yamada From Bokuyaba Dresses Up for Year of the Snake in New 2025 Illustration

The Dangers of My Heart (Bokuyaba) revealed a New Year 2025 illustration, which features Anna Yamada holding Kyotaro dressed up as a snake. It is celebrating the Year of the Snake, specifically the Wood Snake in the Chinese zodiac cycle.

In the Chinese zodiac, each year is associated with an animal sign and one of the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). The Bokuyaba anime previously also released as special illustration for Halloween 2024.

The Dangers in My Heart manga is written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai. It is serialized in Manga Cross, with 11 volumes released as of November 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the title in English, while HIDIVE is streaming the anime. They describe the story:
Fascinated by the macabre, Kyotaro fantasizes about acting on his twisted thoughts to the detriment of his classmates. His heart was dark until an encounter with Anna lit a spark within it in a classic tale of boy meets girl.

Studio Shin-Ei Animation animated the The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba) anime adaptation. Hiroaki Akagi directed both seasons. The anime dominated our rankings in the Winter 2024 season, completing the first-ever season sweep of the weekly charts and then taking home 13 awards in our seasonal ranking. A compilation movie that will also feature a continuation of the story is currently in production.
