Aoashi Season 2 Reveals Main Visual, Theme Songs, Anime Expo Panel Ahead of October Premiere

The upcoming second season of AOASHI has unveiled its first cour main key visual, opening and ending theme artists, and new comments from the main cast ahead of its October 2026 premiere. Studio TMS Entertainment was previously confirmed to be taking over from Production I.G for the animation production.

The soccer anime will also host a panel at Anime Expo 2026, where fans will get the first look at new footage from the series.

The new visual features Ashito Aoi alongside the Tokyo City Esperion Youth A Team, including Nagisa Akutsu, Haruhisa Kuribayashi, Yuma Motoki, Taira Nakamura, Yoichi Kiriki, Eita Takasugi, and Enshin Akiyama, following Ashito’s promotion to the club’s top youth squad. According to the press release, the first cour will cover the opening 12 episodes of the season’s planned 24-episode run.

Season 2’s opening theme will be performed by Japanese rock band 10-FEET, while singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi will perform the ending theme.

Three cast members also shared short previews of what fans can expect from their characters this season:

  • Koki Osuzu (Ashito Aoi): “Soccer at a level even closer to the pros!!”
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi (Nagisa Akutsu): “Keep your eyes on that slick buzz cut!!”
  • Yuichiro Umehara (Haruhisa Kuribayashi): “Anguish.”

The series will appear at Anime Expo 2026 with a panel titled “AOASHI Panel: Changing the Game of Sports Anime!” on July 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. PT in Room 408AB at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Producer Junichi Katsutani will present a behind-the-scenes look at the anime, including a world premiere preview of Season 2 footage and a discussion of how the production approaches realistic soccer animation. The panel will be hosted by Gigguk, alongside anime and manga creator Jay D. Legend, and will also feature giveaways, fan activities, and a special announcement.

Aoashi (stylized AO ASHI) by Yugo Kobayashi began in January 2015 and was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. The manga recently exceeded 20 million circulating copies and ended with 40 volumes. The first season by Production I.G ran for 22 episodes from April to September 2022. Crunchyroll is streaming it, describing the story:
After a loss in his last junior high school soccer tourney, Ehime Prefecture’s ace player, Ashito Aoi, is devastated but in every loss there’s a victory. Tatsuya Fukuda, manager of an organization that trains students for one of the leading clubs in the J-League, sees Ashito’s raw talent and offers a tryout to his group. Together they’ll bring the youth club and Aoshi’s talents to new heights!
