Assassination Classroom rebroadcast is getting a new opening song by Keina Suda, scheduled to debut with Episode 12 on June 26. The new theme song is titled “Last Look,” and is performed by the popular musician who previously worked as Balloon.
The song is part of the anime’s 10th anniversary rebroadcast in Japan, which began in April. The first opening theme song was “Kiiro Shingo” (“Yellow Light”) by TOMONARI SORA, while the ending song is “Tsuki no Fune” by ATARAYO
The rerun of Assassination Classroom airs every Thursday at 1:45 a.m. (25:45) in Japan, and the new opening is set to appear midway through Season 1, which had a total of 22 episodes.
Keina Suda on “Last Look” – New Assassination Classroom Anime Opening
Keina Suda commented:
“I believe that, at times, we all encounter moments where moving forward means challenging or even breaking away from what’s considered normal or expected. In creating this song, I tried to capture that fleeting feeling of omnipotence — the sense that, just for a moment, you can do anything.
As I composed it, the faces of the people I work closely with — my staff, my band — naturally came to mind. Perhaps it’s because, like the characters in Assassination Classroom, they are the ones I fight alongside. If this song can make listeners feel strong, even if only for a short while, I would be truly happy.”
Previously, three major projects (or ‘missions’) were announced for the 10th anniversary celebration. The theme songs were the first one, while the other two are yet to be announced. The new song will be available on music streaming platforms from July 16.
