Attack on Titan Reveals Final Trailer, Linked Horizon and Ai Higuchi Return With Theme Songs

Attack on Titan revealed a final trailer for the anime series, which is scheduled to air its last episode on November 4. Studio MAPPA is animating the series, under the direction of Yuichiro Hayashi. Linked Horizon, the band behind the theme songs from the first three seasons of the anime, will be back for one final time for the opening theme song and Ai Higuchi is performing “Itterasshai / See You Later” as the ending.

The trailer was announced yesterday, along with information that the final episode will be one hour and 25 minutes long. The previous one, which was licensed as Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special, was 61 minutes.

Linked Horizon’s new song “The Last Titan” will be released on November 5 in Japan, after the premiere of the finale. The theme song, also by Linked Horizon, titled “Nisennen… Moshiku wa… Nimannengo no Kimi e… / Two Thousand Years… Or… 20,000 Years From Now…” is included. The album art is now out, along with a new artist photo for REVO, the singer and songwriter behind Linked Horizon. He wrote the well-known “Guren no Yumiya” and “Shinzo wo Sasageyo” for the anime, along with other songs.

The ending theme song singer, Ai Higuchi is known for “Akuma no Ko,” the ending theme song of Attack on Titan Part 2. She previously revealed how the song was written and stated that it was not the only one inspired by Attack on Titan.

To celebrate the anime’s conclusion, the franchise is hosting an Attack on Titan: After Party online event. The event will feature 17 interesting things for fans to enjoy – from cast interviews to staff talks, which will include Yuichiro Hayashi, Hiroyuki Sawano, Shintaro Kawakubo (the manga editor), and more. The tickets are now on sale, for 3000JPY.

In addition to the event, the series is also getting its first-ever art book, slated for April 2024 release. The book will contain colored illustrations, but also a new 18-page story, titled Bad Boy. The cover illustration features Levi, Gabi, and Falco and the first four pages will be unveiled on October 30.

Crunchyroll will be streaming the Attack on Titan finale and describes the plot of the special episodes:
The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to eliminate all who threaten Eldia, he leads an unstoppable army of Colossal Titans towards Marley. Now a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission, the only question is, can they stop him?
