BEASTARS is based on a manga by Paru Itakagi. It started serialization in 2016 in Weekly Shounen Champion and ended in 2020 after 196 chapters. The BEASTARS universe also has a side-story titled Beast Complex, which focuses on different characters.
Viz Media licensed the BEASTARS manga in English. A total of 22 volumes (the entirety of the series) have been translated and published so far. Viz describes the story:
One night at Cherryton Academy, an herbivore student is brutally murdered. Among the members of the Drama Club, the herbivores’ suspicions naturally turn to their carnivore classmates… The prime suspect? Wolf Legoshi. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Or would he? Will dwarf rabbit Haru bring out the beast in him? Or are his feelings for her…something else? (Viz Media)
