BLEACH is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and a new visual featuring Ichigo Kurosaki and some of the series’ main antagonists has been released. The anime adaptation of Tite Kubo’s manga premiered on October 5, 2004, while the third part of the Thousand-Year Blood War is set to premiere exactly 20 years later.
The visual highlights the main antagonists of several arcs (hence no other strong opponents like Zaraki Kenpachi and several others), including:
- Byakuya Kuchiki
- Grimmjow Jaegerjaques
- Ulquiorra Cifer
- Sosuke Aizen
- Kugo Ginjo
- Yhwach
A trailer was also revealed to introduce the characters present in the visual, featuring the “Number One” theme song by Shiro Sagisu featuring Hazel Fernandes.
Studio Pierrot previously produced the original TV anime adaptation of Tite Kubo’s BLEACH manga, which aired between October 2004 and March 2012 with a total of 366 episodes. They are now also in charge of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, which will air its 3rd part, subtitled The Conflict, starting from October 5. The latest trailer was shown in July and teased some new Bankais.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, and they describe the BLEACH: TYBWA story:
The peace is suddenly broken when warning sirens blare through the Soul Society. Residents there are disappearing without a trace and nobody knows who’s behind it, meanwhile, a dark shadow is also extending itself toward Ichigo and his friends in Karakura Town…
