The previously announced anime adaptation of Blue Box manga revealed a new trailer and premiere date. Telecon Animation Film is animating the adaptation, which still doesn’t have a premiere date. The visual shows Taiki and Chinatsu, who are making the “blue box” gesture with their hands:
The main cast includes:
- Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata
- Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano
- Akari Kito as Hina Chono
Blue Box is based on a manga by Kouji Miura. The series began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in April of 2021. It was originally published as a one-shot in 2020, before starting regular serialization. A total of 14 volumes have been published as of today. VIZ Media is publishing it in English and describes the plot as:
Taiki admires Chinatsu from afar, but he doubts that she sees him in the same way. Yet somehow, he musters up the courage to tell her to never give up on her dreams! After such a bold declaration, will Taiki’s fleeting high school romance finally begin?
The Blue Box anime was announced in November of last year. The first trailer was shown during the Jump Festa ’24 event. Akari Kito’s role was also announced at the event – she attended the stage with Chiba and Ueda. The anime will have a stage at this year’s AnimeJapan.
