BLUE LOCK Season 2 has already been officially confirmed, and it was announced that the popular voice actor Yuichi Nakamura will voice one of the fan-favorite characters Shido Ryusei. You can watch the season 2 announcement trailer below:
Yuichi Nakamura is well known for voicing bad-ass characters, such as Satoru Gojo in JUJUTSU KAISEN, Hawks in My Hero Academia, Tatsuya Shiba in The Irregular at Magic High School, and so on. You can also see a graphic featuring some of his most popular roles below:
Studio 8bit is animating the series that premiered in October last year. The main cast of Blue Lock anime includes Soma Saito (Hyoma Chigiri), Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi), Yuki Ono (Rensuke Kunigami), and Tasuku Kaito (Meguru Bachira). Besides Yuichi Nakamura, new cast additions include:
- Shin Furukawa as Karasu Tabito
- Kengo Kawanishi as Kageya Otoyo
- Takuya Eguchi as Yu Yukimiya Kenyu
- Hiro Shimono as Julian Loki
- Shinichiro Kamio as Leonardo Luna
The anime is based on a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win! The Football Association is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match … To do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players.
