BLUE LOCK: EPISODE NAGI Movie Gets English-Subtitled Trailer

Crunchyroll revealed the English-subtitled trailer for BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE-EPISODE NAGI-. The movie is coming to North American theatres on June 28, a little over two months after the Japanese premiere on April 19.

The movie focuses on Seishiro Nagi, voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, and Reo Mikage, voiced by Yuma Uchida. Both voice actors are reprising the roles from the Blue Lock TV anime. Crunchyroll describes the plot as:

“That’s a hassle.” That was second-year high schooler Nagi Seishiro’s favorite phrase as he lived his dull life. Until Mikage Reo, a classmate who dreamed of winning the World Cup, discovered Nagi’s hidden skill, inspiring him to play soccer and share his outstanding talent. One day, he receives an invitation to the mysterious BLUE LOCK Project. What awaits him there is an encounter with the finest strikers assembled from across the country. Nagi’s dream of becoming the best, alongside Reo, will take this prodigy to a world he’s never known. 

Studio 8bit is in charge of the animation with Shunsuke Ishikawa as the director,. Taku Kishimoto is doing the series composition and original author Muneyuki Yaneshiro is doing the story composition. Jun Murayama is composing the music.

Episode Nagi adapts the prequel manga to the Blue Lock series. The manga, written by Muneyeki Kaneshiro features art by Kota Sannomiya and Yusuke Nomura’s character designs. It was licensed by Kodansha USA in English and is currently being serialized on the K MANGA app.

The BLUE LOCK TV anime is also returning with the second season this October.
