What is Bungou Stray Dogs?
The battle manga’s setting is in modern-day Yokohama, featuring Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, and also Ryunosuke Akutagawa. The series was first serialized in the January 2013 issue of “Young Ace” (KADOKAWA) and has now sold over 8.5 million copies (including electronic copies). Various media mixes are currently being developed, including a novel version in Kadokawa Beans Bunko, as well as an anime adaptation that has 3 seasons. Additionally, you can read Funimation’s synopsis below:
Stalked by a beastly white tiger, Atsushi Nakajima has no idea that the menace lives inside him—a power that catches the attention of the Armed Detective Agency. Using inhuman abilities to combat crime, this team takes Atsushi under the wing of their most eccentric member, Dazai. Together, they tear through mafia-muddled mysteries while enemies keep an eye on the tiger’s lofty bounty.
Bungou Stray Dogs anime fans have a good understanding of their supernatural abilities, and the live-action will look to translate them similarly. The trailer looks interesting, and we’ll look forward to January!
