Chainsaw Man manga
The Chainsaw Man anime will adapt the manga of the same name, created by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018. Part 1 (the ‘Public Safety’ arc) of the manga concluded on December 14, 2020, with its 97th chapter. The manga will continue with a part 2, though Shonen Jump is yet to announce a release schedule for this.
The manga has received a lot of buzz, with over 9.3 million copies in circulation as of March, 2021. In addition to this, it managed to rank 5th in Oricion’s half year manga sales ranking for 2021, just behind the ever-popular Attack on Titan. The anime adaptation for the series was also confirmed to be in the works by MAPPA, in December of last year.
In case you’re not familiar with the manga, the synopsis is described by VIZ Media as follows:
Denji was a small-time devil hunter just trying to survive in a harsh world. After being killed on a job, he is revived by his pet devil-dog Pochita and becomes something new and dangerous—Chainsaw Man!
