Chainsaw Man revealed a preview for episode 1, ahead of the October 11 premiere. Earlier today, the manga released the latest, 12th volume with a short trailer. The preview is available on official Twitter and MAPPA’s YouTube:
The anime introduces the first episode titled “Dog and Chainsaw” as:
A boy named Denji makes a living as a Devil Hunter.
He fulfils commissions from Yakuzas and lives a poor life with “Chainsaw Devil” named Pochita.
One day, Yakuza calls on Denji but he gets betrayed and killed.
While his consciousness fades away, he hears a voice.

Chainsaw Man Voted Most Anticipated Anime of Fall 2022
Tatsuki Fujimoto serialized the Chainsaw Man manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 with a total of 11 volumes. he is currently drawing the series’ second part, which is being published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump +. The serialization started on July 13, 2022. The anime was chosen as Anime Corner’s most anticipated Anime of Fall 2022.
Viz Media licensed the Chainsaw Man manga series for English releases and describes the plot of Volume 1 as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
