Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Movie Trailer Gets Over 19 Million Views in First 24 Hours

Less than 24 hours since its release, the latest Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc trailer already exceeded 19 million views online. Studio MAPPA delivered an exciting first look at the movie, teasing the return of fan-favorites along with the titular Reze (CV: Reina Ueda).

At the time of this writing, the trailer has 13 million views on the X (formerly Twitter) upload, while it adds another 4 million through YouTube and 2 million through Instagram. You can watch the trailer below.

Tatsuya Yoshihara is taking over as director from Season 1’s Ryu Nakayama. Among the returning staff from the first season are Masato Nakazono as an assistant director (was chief episode director), Hiroshi Seko as the screenwriter, Kazutaka Sugiyama as the character designer and Kensuke Ushio as the music composer. The voice cast includes:

  • Tomori Kusunoki as Makima
  • Shogo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa
  • Fairouz Ai as Power
  • Karin Takahashi as Kobeni Higashiyama

  • Reina Ueda as Reze

The first anime season premiered in Fall 2023, and it ran for a total of 12 episodes. MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka said that the Chainsaw Man anime was a complete financial success. Kenshi Yonezu performed the opening theme song “KICK BACK,” while each episode had a different ending theme song performed by a different artist.

The story for the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc movie is described:
Denji became “Chainsaw Man,” a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.

Tatsuki Fujimoto first started the Chainsaw Man manga in 2018. Part 1 ended in 2020 with a total of 97 chapters compiled into 11 volumes. Part 2 began in July 2022 and is currently ongoing. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.
