Japanese data science company comici has announced the launch of comici MANGA, a new digital manga reading platform now available in 12 countries. The service brings together multiple Japanese manga publishing labels under a single platform accessible through web browsers and mobile apps with a shared account system.
The platform launched on January 8, 2026 and has surpassed 110,000 cumulative downloads since opening to the public. It currently provides access to titles from five manga labels through a mix of subscription, free, and rental reading options. Participating publishers at launch include Bushiroad Works, Kill Time Communication, Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Fusosha, and Ohzora Publishing.
Readers can access a range of genres popular with international audiences such as fantasy, BL, villainess stories, and romantic comedy. The service includes both well-known titles, including The Ancient Magus’ Bride, and newly released English-language works such as Magical Girl Inaba.
According to the company, the platform aims to recreate the traditional “magazine-style” manga experience in a digital format. The approach emphasizes curated selections and batch releases of chapters from multiple labels, allowing readers to discover new series across genres in a similar way to classic manga magazines.
comici MANGA synchronizes reading history and purchases across its web and mobile versions, allowing users to continue reading across devices using a single account. The platform is currently available in English in 12 countries including:
- United States
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- Spain
- Philippines
- Thailand
- India
- Brazil
- Mexico
- Argentina
- Indonesia
The service builds on comici’s existing manga platform infrastructure. In Japan, publishers use the company’s comici+ management system to operate digital manga services such as Young Animal Web and Champion Cross. Platforms built on the technology currently serve more than three million registered users, with approximately eight million monthly visitors across the company’s web services.
New titles have also begun debuting on the platform, including The Virgin of Eden by Usoumi Watanabe, Uraraka na Haiiro by Yoko Shima, My Sweetheart Addiction by Nokiwami, and The Sweet Villainess Who Lost Everything and Found a Sweet-Tooth Prince, written by Koki Fuyutsuki with artwork by Kayo and character designs by Kurosaki.
