Ahead of the October 3 premiere, the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s iconic manga, DAN DA DAN, has released the preview images for episode 1. The official title is “That’s How Love Starts, Ya Know!” and the synopsis describes it as:
“Momo is a high school girl born into a family of spirit mediums, and Okarun is her classmate and an occult fanatic. They start chatting after Momo saves Okarun from class bullies, but an argument arises between the two of them – Momo believes in ghosts but not in aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but not in ghosts. To make each other believe in what the other denies, Momo heads to an abandoned hospital famous for UFO sightings while Okarun heads to a tunnel famous for UFO sightings while Okarun heads to a tunnel famous for being a paranormal hotspot.”
DAN DA DAN Episode 1 will air on October 3, at 25:00 AM JST (effectively October 4, at 01:00AM). The anime series is the directorial debut of Fuga Yamashiro,with Science SARU (The Colors Within, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) in charge of the animation and and Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man) on the music. It will also feature the theme songs “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts and “TAIDADA” by ZUTOMAYO. The rest of the staff includes:

DAN DA DAN (also written as DANDADAN) is a manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app since April 2021 and has collected a total of 15 tankobon volumes. At this year’s Anime NYC, Anime Corner had the wonderful opportunity to interview the English dub cast.
