Yukinobu Tatsu writes and draws the DAN DA DAN manga, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in 2021. Volume 16 of the manga released in Japan on October 4, a day after the anime’s strong premiere. It began by ranking second in Week 1, after which it fell down to fourth in Week 2. It kept the same rank in Week 3, before jumping to the top this week.

The story follows a high school girl Momo and her classmate Ken Takakura. Momo comes from a family of spirit mediums, while Ken is a follower of the occult. After their challenge went wrong, Ken (now known as Okarun because of Momo’s idol) got cursed and now Momo has to keep him in check.

We also had the chance to interview both the Japanese and English voice cast members of DAN DA DAN. From the Japanese cast, we spoke with Shion Wakayama, the voice of Momo, along with the show’s director, Fuga Yamashiro. As for the English members, we spoke to both Abby Trott and AJ Beckles, who voice Momo and Okarun, respectively.
