TV anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi) Season 5 will return on February 8, 2025, as revealed following the release of the 15th volume of the spinoff light novel series Sword Oratoria.
Sword Oratoria Volume 15 was released in Japan on January 12; its physical copy comes with an obi (paper strip) confirming that Japanese streaming service ABEMA will stream DanMachi Season 5’s climax on February 8. DanMachi Season 5’s return date follows its delay in December with Episode 12. The anime’s production committee issued the following apology:

Regarding episode 12 of ‘Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V‘, which was scheduled to air on Friday, December 27, 2024, we have been forced to postpone the broadcast due to production reasons.
The broadcast and streaming schedule for episode 12 will be announced on the ‘DanMachi‘ portal site and official SNS at a later date.
DanMachi creator Fujino Omori also apologized to fans on X, saying he shared responsibility as an anime staff member involved with the series’ composition. He believes the production team decided not to compromise on the quality, adding, “I know you may feel lonely and sad, but I would appreciate it if you could wait just a little longer. Thank you very much.” The Episode 12 delay followed another delay to Episode 9.
DanMachi Season 5’s return on February 8 and Sword Oratoria‘s recent Volume 15 follows the release of the main series’ Volume 20 on December 15. Omori confirmed in a recent interview the novel will enter its final arc with Volume 21. He revealed in 2023 that he knew the ending of the main story before he even submitted the story for the GA Bunko Award over 10 years ago.
