Deep Insanity, a media mix project by Square Enix, is getting an anime adaptation titled Deep Insanity: The Lost Child. The anime is scheduled to air in October of 2021. The project already has a manga, as well as a mobile game. Teaser PV has also been revealed.
Studio SILVER LINK will be animating the series. Shin Oonuma is directing, while Kento Shimoyama is in charge of series composition and screenplay. Kazuyuki Kamayoshi is doing character designs. Fumiyuki Gou is a sound director for the Deep Insanity anime. In addition, Mirai Kodai Gakudan is composing the music.
Hiro Shimono is starring in the anime.
Deep Insanity manga started publishing in January 2020. Norimitsu Kaiho and Makoto Fukami are writing the story, while Etorouji Shino is in charge of the art.
Square Enix website describes the manga plot as:
One day, a large hole named Asylum is discovered in Antarctica. At the same time, a mysterious disease starts spreading throughout the world. The disease, Randolph’s Syndrome, causes coma in those infected. Many countries send teams to investigate but none of them return.
Serge Sol, a boy immune to the disease, and Hildegard Olympiada Yamada, a jack-of-all-trades, end up in the hole together by accident. They will have to try and discover the cause of the mysterious disease, but what exactly is going on in the depths of the Asylum?
