Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – New York’s Time Square Takeover

This was not the first time an anime franchise took over Times Square, as One Piece Film Red also held a campaign on October 8, 2022. The campaign featured multiple digital billboards to showcase scenes and promotional material for the One Piece movie.

The final episode for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc (season 3) is set to have a 70-minute-long runtime. Previously, the season also started off with a 1-hour special episode that is also currently available to watch on Crunchyroll with English subtitles.

The Swordsmith Village Arc begins in volume 10 of the manga. VIZ describes the story:
For the first time in over 100 years, the upper ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki are not full. Angered, Muzan dispatches the survivors on another mission. Elsewhere, Tanjiro journeys to a village of swordsmiths and has to explain how his sword was so badly damaged to Haganezuka, the smith who made it. While Tanjiro waits for his sword to be repaired, enemies close in…

The first season had 26 episodes and was followed by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train movie in 2020. The movie was an enormous success, both in Japan and overseas. Season 2 of Demon Slayer started in October of 2021 with a TV version of the Mugen Train arc. The movie was adapted into 7 episodes and it included a special first episode that wasn’t part of the movie. The second part of the second season was the Entertainment District Arc, which introduced a new Hashira – Tengen Uzui.
