Bandai Namco has released the first trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, giving a detailed look at the game ahead of its planned 2027 launch.
The new trailer introduces the game’s setting, AGE 1000, while revealing several original characters and a new story centered around a player-created protagonist.
Players will take on the role of a mysterious hero who arrives in AGE 1000 from another era with no memory of their past. After arriving in the futuristic timeline, the protagonist gets involved with a new generation of heroes tasked with protecting peace while balancing everyday life as university students in West City.
Among the first new characters introduced is Brett, an aspiring hero who refers to himself as the protagonist’s senior and rival. Other newly revealed characters include Tap, a prodigy who entered university early due to exceptional intelligence and combat ability, ROM, an idol who attends university while pursuing her entertainment career, and Lilliga, one of the protagonist’s classmates. Their voice cast was also revealed:
- Hiro Shimono as Brett
- Mariya Ise as Tap
- Yuina as ROM
- Hina Yomiya as Lilliga
Bulma appears in AGE 1000 while retaining her youthful appearance, and Gamma 1 returns with a new outfit marked with the number “1000.”
In the second half of the trailer, the protagonist transforms into familiar Dragon Ball characters. By filling a dedicated gauge, players can summon the soul of a legendary Dragon Ball character and temporarily inherit their power. The preview features Trunks, Vegeta, Piccolo and more:
The sequel was previously teased under the codename “Age 1000” and marks the first new entry in the series in over a decade since Xenoverse 2 released in 2016. It continues the Xenoverse line, allowing players to create their own character and experience an original story set within the Dragon Ball universe. The project was almost accidentally revealed when it was listed under a Xenoverse on Bandai’s YouTube channel in February.
