The E-WIN Flash XL gaming chair is an absolute life-changer. From perfect lumbar support to ultimate comfort, it’s a chair everyone should have. But to get started, if you’re someone who has trouble lifting heavy things, ask someone for help. There is no doubt that this chair put the “XL” in its name for a reason. Getting it through the front door and ready for assembling took effort.
But once everything was out of the box, I assembled this incredible gaming chair in no more than 30 minutes—assembly was that easy. It even recommends having two people help with assembly, but if you have the strength, it’s an easy one-man crew job.
The E-WIN Flash XL doesn’t have any special look to it. However, the E-WN Brisa Ultra Premium PU leather is indeed premium in both look and feel. The best part is that it’s also super easy to clean if any dirt falls on it or if something spills. After putting the chair together, it immediately made my less-than-appealing computer space look a lot better.
A lot of gaming chairs have straps to keep their pillows in place, and it can be a pain adjusting them. But with the E-WIN FLASH XL, the pillows connect to the chair via magnets, and yes, it’s that big of a difference. Easily adjusting the pillow headrest up and down without having to get up or turn around is a game-changer.
The lower back pillow is extremely comfortable and has even helped fix my posture while working at my desk. That’s an understatement considering how bad it was before. So not only is the E-WIN FLASH XL perfect in comfort, it almost helped my health and focus while working—something I didn’t even think was possible for simply having a better chair.
I can lean this chair back without a single shred of fear of something breaking under pressure. It’s a very heavy chair, and you can feel it in all aspects, whether it be moving around in it, leaning back on it, or even sitting criss-cross on it, like I know so many people do. It’s said this gaming chair can hold up to 550 lbs, but it feels like it can go beyond that. You would actually have to try and break this chair on purpose for it to break.
Now, the only slight downside to the chair is that if you don’t have the lower back pillow and the head rest pillow attached, the tough back to the chair can be quite uncomfortable at times if you sit like that for too long. But, as I said before, having the head pillow being magnet-adjustable and the lower-back pillow being extremely comfortable, there should be no problem whatsoever.
However, I will say that if you are someone who sweats a lot, or lives in a very hot environment, or both, keep a fan nearby. I’ve noticed during work that my back doesn’t get much airflow to breathe and it sometimes leaves me sweating a little more than usual. But be aware, this chair does not advertise such a feature like other chairs do. So there’s no blame there at all. It only mentions the seat itself that has cooling foam, which is fully true. Just make sure to let your back breathe when you can.
The E-WIN FLASH XL main focus is comfort, lumbar support, and weight support—all of which are a 10/10. I also love the design. While the chair remains a dark black, the stitching is colored, giving it a nice modernized, minimalist approach that a lot of gaming chairs tend to stay away from. But for someone like me, it’s the perfect design.
Being able to adjust the armrests up and down, in and out, was a feature I didn’t think was a big deal until I tested it out. It makes working long hours on a keyboard and mouse infinitely easier, and the soreness I once had with my previous chair, which didn’t have such a feature, is completely gone now, thanks to the E-WIN FLASH XL. I do wish that the armrests weren’t as hard as they are, but nothing like a small armrest padding purchase can’t fix.
Some chairs can initially rock back and forth without reclining. However, this one, not so much. So if you’re looking for a gaming chair that can rock back and forth like your grandfather’s wooden one on the front porch, this isn’t it. That being said, the E-WIN FLASH XL series reclines further back than any human could possibly need. If you’re looking for a chair that can basically lay straight down, then no, this isn’t the chair for you. If you need everything else, then yes, this is a great chair to own and, again, extremely comfortable.
I’m just under 6’0″, so the length of the base of the chair doesn’t affect my legs at all. It’s a perfect match. I could be on the chair all day and at no point have my legs ever once felt like they were too far off the chair or too much on it. So I’d say if you’re a shorter person, go with a chair smaller in size. But if you’re bigger than I am, this is still a fantastic chair to own.
All in all, I went from a chair where I had to put a whole pillow behind me to be comfortable all the way to the E-WIN FLASH XL. It’s like flying Spirit Airlines and upgrading to a private jet. No, I’m not exaggerating.
E-WIN FLASH XL Gaming Chair Summary
- Comfort: The magnetic head pillow is a game-changer that’s hassle-free. The lower-back pillow is extremely comfortable, firm, but just that right level of softness where it can adjust to your weight properly when pressed against it. I could definitely see myself even falling asleep in this chair at times and I’m someone who cannot sleep while sitting up at all—I’m not exaggerating.
- Lumbar support: Best part of the chair. If you’re someone like me who had problems with posture while sitting at a desk, this will help fix it. I’d say it’s probably the best feature of the chair entirely.
- Armrest: While having the feature to lower and raise them, and move them inwards and outwards, is fantastic, if you’re someone with skinny arms and your elbows are on them a lot, I do recommend getting the chair and testing it out for yourself. At best, you have no problems with them; at worst, you just need to buy some cheap padding online to put over them.
- Wheelbase: Fantastic movement and extremely sturdy with a metal base. No matter your weight, you’ll be able to move around in this chair without a single shred of fear of it possibly breaking. The material is definitely on the high-end.
- Style: If you’re someone who likes a chair with a little more personal style to it, this isn’t for you. However, if you like the high-end, minimalist look to it, then it’s a great addition for being around your desk.
- Affordability: Originally priced at $599, it’s not $549. Now, would I recommend spending a paycheck’s worth of your money on any gaming chair if you’re just looking for something to sit in and make your area look cooler? Absolutely not. But if you’re on the heavier side, and/or need a chair with great lumbar support then this chair is undoubtedly worth every single penny.
However, if that price is still too steep, you can use code “animecorner” for an additional 22% off to bring it down to around $428—an insanely good deal for E-WIN Flash XL. For a final rating, I’d give it a 9.8/10.
