Even a Replica Can Fall in Love anime revealed its main trailer and visual, along with five additional cast members, the opening and ending theme songs, and an April 7 premiere date. The opening theme song “Refrain” is performed by shytaupe and asmi performs “Awa” for the ending theme song. Joining the cast are:
- Yuki Takada as Ritsuko Hironaka
- Kaori Nazuka as Suzumi Mori
- Jun Fukuyama as Jun Mochizuki
- Rina Hidaka as Kozue Sato
- Shugo Nakamura as Haruka Yoshii
Studio Voil is animating with Ryuichi Kimura as the director. Tomoko Shinozuka is in charge of the series composition. Eiji Abiko is adapting Raemz’s character designs for the anime. The anime stars Sumire Moroshi as Sunao Aikawa and Ryota Suzuki as Akiya Sanada. Another trailer and visual were released last November.
Even a Replica Can Fall in Love is a light novel series written by Don Haruna. Published under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint, the series debuted on February 10, 2023. There is also a manga adaptation by Momose Hanada, which began serialization in the Dengeki Maoh magazine in April 2023.
Yen Press has licensed the series in English release, describing the first volume:
When she doesn’t feel well, when there’s a test, when she doesn’t want to go to school… I take her place. I’m her replica. I’m not meant for anything else. But that changed when I fell in love. I wear my hair up so the boy I fell for knows it’s me. We skip school and promise to meet again tomorrow, and every day after. I’m her replica.
