Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 previewed the upcoming Episode 9, slated to premiere on Friday, March 20. The synopsis of the episode is as follows:
A village of men who refuse to abandon their homeland despite the threat of dragon hordes. And a port town on the vast lake, Lake Korridor. Frieren and her companions visit various places during their journey. When they try to take a ferry on Lake Korridor, they don’t have enough money for the fare, and the boatman offers them a deal: to find “Himmel’s Autobiography,” which is hidden in the island’s monastery.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020.
The first season of the anime ran for 28 episodes from September 29, 2024, and it was directed by Keiichiro Saito. MADHOUSE is animating the sequel with Tomoya Kitagawa as director. Tomohiro Suzuki is in charge of the series composition, with Yuri Fujinaka, Keisuke Kojima, and Maru Takase on character designs. Evan Call is composing the music.
The opening theme song “lulu.” is performed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE while milet returns to sing the ending theme song “The Story of Us.” Crunchyroll is streaming the series and describes the anime as follows:
After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes.
