FILM PLOT
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle is the upcoming, highly anticipated film of the popular Demon Slayer series, which continues the storyline of the successful anime series. The film adapts the final and action-packed story arc from the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge: the Infinity Castle Arc.
The story begins after Tanjiro Kamado and his allies, the Hashira, directly confront the Upper Moon demons. At the center is the battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of all demons, who seeks refuge in the eerie and labyrinthine Infinity Castle dimension. In this breathtaking setting—a castle whose rooms constantly change and move—Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the strongest demon hunters must give their all to save humanity from total annihilation.
Koyoharu Gotoge wrote and illustrated the popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga series, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020. It released a total of 23 compilation volumes.
The anime adaptation began with a 26-episode Season 1, which aired from April to September 2019. Following its huge success, the sequel movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train followed in October 2020 and arguably began the entire anime movie boom.
The movie was then re-edited and shown as part of the 18-episode Season 2, which aired from October 2021 to February 2022. The 11-episode Season 3 aired from April to June 2023, while Season 4 aired from May to June 2024 and set the stage for the endgame.
The Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy is now in production, and the first movie was previously confirmed to premiere in 2025. A sequel game titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 is also in production and set to release next year. The fifth installment of the stage play will also begin showing in Japan in April this year.
