BL comedy series Go for It, Nakamura! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) is getting a TV anime adaptation, as announced earlier today. Details on the studio and staff have not been revealed. Original author Syundei drew a commemorative illustration to celebrate the news:
Originally serialized from 2014 to 2017, the Go for It, Nakamura! manga follows Okuto Nakamura, a high schooler with a crush on Aiki Hirose. Hirose is his classmate, but the two have never actually spoken and Nakamura spends his time daydreaming about potential situations they might find themselves in. The manga was serialized in Akane Shinsha’s josei magazine Opera. Seven Seas Entertainment is licensing it in English. Seven Seas Entertainment also licensed the sequel manga, Go for It Again, Nakamura!, which was serialized from 2017 to 2021. In total, the series has two volumes.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the plot:
Nakamura has fallen in love-at-first-sight with one of his classmates, Hirose–but there’s a problem: they haven’t actually met yet…and Nakamura is a total klutz who might bungle things before they even begin!
In addition to the anime announcement, Go for It, Nakamura! manga is also getting a new print edition on August 16 in Japan.
Syundei is known for the BL (Boys’ Love) title Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart and multiple anthologies such as Retro BL.
