Grand Blue Dreaming (commonly known as Grand Blue) is a manga series created by writer Kenji Inoue and illustrator Kimitake Yoshioka. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. The series received a television anime adaptation by Zero-G, which aired from July to September 2018, and was later adapted into a live-action film released in August 2020.
Kodansha also publishes the manga in English. The story follows Iori Kitahara, who moves to a coastal town after finishing high school and starts working at his uncle’s diving shop. Along the way, he becomes involved in both scuba diving and the unexpected, alcohol-filled college life, forming friendships in an extremely chaotic enviornment.
