You know a book is going to be good when it hasn’t even been released and it’s already a best-seller on several websites. But when that book is the Gushing Over Magical Girls Official Fan Book, what can you expect? Ranging from $18 to $36 (depending on where you buy), the completely uncensored tankobon-sized fan book is full of Maho Ako memorabilia and is slated for an August 2, 2024, release.
The 116-page Gushing Over Magical Girls Official Fan Book will contain the following:

Based on the manga by Akihiro Ononaka, the anime adaptation of Gushing Over Magical Girls premiered as part of the winter 2024 anime roster. The 13-episode show, animated by Asahi Productions, had Masato Suzuki as the director and Takehiro Nakayama in charge of the storyboard. The show’s main VA cast included:

Gushing Over Magical Girls follows Utena Hiiragi, a quite introverted girl who looks up to magical girls with a passion. One day, a situation she could never even dream about appears before her. A magical mascot asks her if she’d like to transform. But instead of transforming into a magical girl, she ends up decked in a skimpy outfit and leather pants, and much to her horror, she now has to fight her idols.
While she initially refuses, the magical mascot before her threatens to release her transformation online, so with no other choice, she hesitantly goes into battle. Sometimes, the only thing one needs to realize they love something is to try it, and Utena quickly realizes that thrashing magical feels really, really good.
