The official website of the Haigakura anime has announced that broadcasts beginning from episode 8 will be delayed indefinitely, citing a desire to maintain the “quality of work” for the series moving forward. Rebroadcasts for the past episodes have been announced as well:
- Episode 1: November 25
- Episode 2: December 2
- Episode 3: December 9
- Episode 4: December 16
- Episode 5: December 23
- Episode 6: December 30
The author, Shinobu Takayama, and the production team involved in the anime have also apologized for the inconvenience regarding the status of the adaptation.
Haigakura began airing on October 7, with Typhoon Graphics animating the series. Junichi Yamamoto is directing the series, while Yuu Murai is doing the series composition. Masaki Sato is the character designer, and Yuhki Kurihara is in charge of the music. The cast for the anime includes:
- Kaito Ishikawa as Tenko
- Takeo Otsuka as Ichiyo (Older Version)
- Junko Takeuchi as Ichiyo (Child Version)
- Akira Sasanuma as Shungei
- Tatsumaru Tachibana as Gaishi
- Atsushi Tamaru as Gas Mask
- Kazutomi Yamamoto as Usagi Kamen
The anime is based on a manga by Shinobu Takayama, serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum WARD magazine from January 2008 to May 2015. It was then transferred to Zero-Sum Online in September 2015.
Amazon Prime is streaming the anime series, describing it as:
On a journey to find ourselves. With captured family and a missing past, Ichiyo, a kashi, battles alongside Tenko to regain what’s lost. The Immortal realm. Immortals and humans dwell in a world on the verge of collapse. Ichiyo and Tenko search for the key to salvation, the ‘Four Perils’ who hold this land together.
