Hatsune Miku Partners With Pikachu in a New Music Video Collab

The official Pokemon X (formerly known as Twitter) account released a music video for their collaboration project, Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE. In the music video, Miku becomes a Pokemon trainer who partners with a female Pikachu in this electrifying, battle-ready song, “Volt Tackle feat. Hatsune Miku.” The music was composed by Deco*27, while omutatsu was in charge of the illustrations for the music video.

Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE is a special collaboration project between Pokemon and the Vocaloid’s virtual-idol, Hatsune Miku. The official website describes the project as enriching to both the real and virtual worlds, which will now collaborate for the first time. They create a world where dreams, adventures, future, and sounds intersect.

Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku will release a total of 18 songs representing the 18 Pokemon types: Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Bug, Steel, Psychic, Dark, Ice, Fairy, Dragon, Rock, Ground, Electric, and Ghost. Each of the songs will use music from the Pokemon games and are composed by Vocaloid producers including Deco*27, Inaba Cloud, MitchieM, and many more.

In the past few weeks, Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE released official visuals of Miku as a Pokemon trainer partnering with one Pokemon from each of the different Pokemon types. Below is the official visual that showcases all of Miku’s designs for each specific Pokemon type.

Starting on September 29, Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku will release all 18 songs and music videos in the upcoming months, with plans to release three music videos on October 6, 13, and 20. The Pokemon franchise began in 1996 with Pokemon Red and Blue for Gameboy consoles. The franchise has 122 known games including the recent Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Hatsune Miku is a virtual idol and a singing voice software bank called Vocaloid. She was designed in 2007 and is the most popular and well-known virtual idol, having over 100,000 songs released worldwide.
