Aniplex released short trailers of the rap teams that will appear in the Hypnosis Mic Division Rap Battle Rhyme Anima + anime season. Short trailers include Ikebukuro Division: Buster Bros!!, Yokohama Division: Mad Trigger Crew, Shibuya Division: Fling Posse, Shinjuku Division: Matenro, Osaka Division: Dotsuitare Hampo, and Nagoya Division: Bad Ass Temple.
Buster Bros!! is Ikebukuro Division’s rap team. It consists of three brothers:
- Ichiro Yamada (MC. B.B.) voiced by Subaru Kimura (Satori Tendou from Haikyuu!!)
- Jiro Yamada (MC. M.B.) voiced by Haruki Ishiya (Rigur from That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime)
- Saburo Yamada (MC. L.B.) voiced by Kohei Amasaki (Neito Monoma from My Hero Academia)
Mad Trigger Crew (M.T.C. for short) is Yokohama Division’s rap team. It is a three-person team consisting of a first-class sergeant navy veteran, a policeman, and a yakuza leader. The team members are:
- Samatoki Aohitsugi (MC. Mr. Hc or Mr. Hardcore) voiced by Shintaro Asanuma (Masaki Takigawa from Tsurune)
- Jyuto Iruma (MC. 45 Rabbit) voiced by Wataru Komada (Pablo Cavasoz from Blue Lock)
- Rio Mason Busujima (MC. Crazy M) voiced by Shinichiro Kamio (Kaede Rukawa from The First Slam Dunk Movie)
Fling Posse is Shibuya’s rap team division. It consists of a gambler, a famous novelist, and a fashion designer. Its members are:
- Ramuda Amemura (MC. easy R.)voiced by Yusuke Shirai (Yamato Nikaidou from Idolish7)
- Gentaro Yumeno ( MC. Phantom) voiced by Souma Saitou (Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin)
- Dice Aisugawa (MC. Dead or Alive) voiced by Yukihiro Nozuyama (Ryouhei Hayashi from Tokyo Revengers)
Matenro is Shinjuku Division’s rap team. It’s a three-member team consisting of a doctor, a host, and a salaryman. Its members are:
- Jakurai Jinjuji (MC. ill-DOC) voiced by Sho Hayami (Ferndinad from Ascendance of a Bookworm)
- Hifumi Izanami (MC. GIGOLO) voiced by Ryuichi Kijima (Mitsuki from Boruto: Next Generations)
- Doppo Kannonzaka (MC. DOPPO) voice by Kento Itou (Hirotaka Nifuji from Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku)
The Osaka Divison’s rap team is called Dotsuitare Hampo. It is one of the two rap division teams that will appear in the anime for the first time. It consists of three members: a comedian, a high school teacher, and a mysterious man who calls himself a con artist. The three members are:
- Sasara Nurude (MC. Tragic Comedy) voiced by Ryouta Iwasaki (Inasa Yaorashi from My Hero Academia)
- Rosho Tsutsujimori (MC. Wisdom) voiced by Kengo Kawanishi (Muichirou Tokitou from Demon Slayer)
- Rei Amayado (MC. Mastermind) voiced by Takaya Kuroda (Sullivan from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun)
Bad Ass Temple is Nagoya’s rap team division and one of the two rap teams who will appear in the anime for the first time. This rap team includes an apprentice monk, a musician from a visual kei band, and a lawyer. They are:
- Kuko Harai (MC. Evil Monk) voiced by Shouta Hayama (Kazushi Yamagishi from Tokyo Revengers)
- Jyushi Aimono (MC. 14th Moon) voiced by Yuki Sakakihara (Polka Shinoyama from Dead Mount Death Play)
- Hitoya Amaguni (MC. Heaven & Hell) voiced by Eiji Takeuchi (Ken Sudou from Classroom of the Elite Season 2)
Hypnosis Mic Division Rap Battle is a multimedia music project focusing on rap and hip-hop. It started with audio CDs and drama tracks about the story of the division rap teams before it eventually grew to have manga adaptations, stage plays, anime adaptations, and a mobile game. Hypnosis Mic Division Rap Battle Rhyme Anima + is the second season of the 2020 anime series. The season will premiere on October 6 and will be streaming on Crunchyroll.
