The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the upcoming Blue Lock live-action film dropped a visual, roughly captioned in English, “Egos—gather.” You can check out the visual below. UPDATE: A Yoichi Isagi visual has since been released and can be seen below.
Check out the Blue Lock live-action visual of Yoichi Isagi (presumably):
Blue Lock‘s rather drastic depiction of football and clashing egos, as well as past challenges adapting manga/anime to live-action, naturally leads one to question how the production team will approach this film. While the eye colors may be stylized for the visual, the further colored eyebrows and hair suggest that the Blue Lock live-action intends to keep the colors from the original series, as well as their corresponding characters like Yoichi Isagi (blue), Hyoma Chigiri (pink), and others.
The Blue Lock live-action was announced alongside the third season of the TV anime series. It will debut in the summer of 2026, coinciding with the World Cup. CREDEUS, the studio behind the live-action adaptations of Kingdom and Golden Kamuy, as well as the Oscar-nominated Kokuho, will oversee the film’s development. CK WORKS is producing the project. Toho will distribute the film; you can check out more details in our Blue Lock Season 3 and live-action announcement article.
Blue Lock adapts the manga series by Muneyuki Kaneshiro (story) and Yusuke Nomura (art). Kodansha USA licenses the series in North America, describing it:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?
