The Aquarium Does Not Dance, a solo-developed horror game by creator daidai, is set to release for Nintendo Switch and Steam on August 1, 2025. Originally launched in February 2024, the game has over 600,000 downloads, driven largely by word-of-mouth and streaming interest.
The new version will feature fully-voiced characters, updated visuals, and additional in-game content. A physical Nintendo Switch release is also planned for October 30, 2025, exclusive to Japan.
The Aquarium Does Not Dance New Release Details
The updated edition includes:
- Voice acting for the five main characters
- Additional story content, including a new scenario
- Revised UI, new event CGs, and upgraded puzzle mechanics
- Motion-enhanced character portraits for improved dialogue sequences
The digital version will be priced at $19.99 (including tax), while the Japanese physical edition will retail for ¥4,950. Supported languages include Japanese, English, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The game is rated CERO C (ages 15 and up) and is single-player only.

Synopsis:
Having been gifted a premium pass to Bianca Aquarium, Suze and her best friend, Lulu, receive a guided tour of the place led by the aquarium director’s charming wife, Chrissy. However, when Lulu suddenly goes missing, Suze goes looking for her and inexplicably finds herself in a strange and terrifying world that looks nothing like the aquarium she was at just moments ago.
While searching the building, now overrun with gruesome sea creatures, a mysterious armed woman dressed like a soldier appears before her. The woman, who introduces herself as Retro, is also looking for her companion, a girl named Kitty. Can Suze find her best friend and escape from the nightmarish aquarium before it’s too late? Beware, for a traitor lurks in their midst…
