Quantum’s light novel series, I’m Quitting Heroing will receive a TV anime adaptation in April 2022. The official twitter account for the anime made the announcement on October 20, 2021. However, the specific release date is not available yet. The work won the Grand Prize in the category of Isekai Fantasy at the 2nd Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest in 2017.
Staff
EMT Squared will produce the anime. The project apparently shares some of the staff members with one of their other anime work, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear. Firstly, Nobuta Yuu who will join the I’m Quitting Heroing anime as the general director, and he directed the anime in 2020. Ishii Hisahi was also working as the series director. Likewise, Nakano Yuuki designed the characters. Murakoshi Shigeru did series composition in both Zombie Land Saga anime titles, Zombie Land Saga (2018) and Zombie Land Saga Revenge (2021).

Voice Actors
The following voice actors will play the characters as below. Firstly, Ono Kensho, whose voice is Kuroko Tetsuya in Kuroko’s Basket Ball will act as the protagonist in the upcoming anime. Hondo Kaede, who is taking part in Mieruko-chan as Yurikawa Hana this season, will join as Echidna. Ito Shizuka, known for her leading characters, such as Katsura Hinagiku in Hayate the Combat Butler, will be Schtina. Owada Hitomi, who played Imai Midori in the Shirobako series, will voice Lilly. Uchiyama Yumi, the voice of young Rudeus Greyrat in Mushoku Tensei, will show off her voice as Melnes. Lastly, Inada Tohru, who is a hero as Endeavor in My Hero Academia, was cast as Inada Tetsu.

I’m Quitting Heroing
With author Quantum and illustrator Amano Hana, the light novel has been running since 2017 and currently has three compiled volumes. The series has received a manga adaptation by Kazato Nori on Young Ace Up and released its 5th volume last May. The publishing company describes the plot in the manga:
A Retired Hero tries to rebuild the Demon King’s Army—a story for those of you who are struggling with work!
After saving the world, the strongest hero Leo became someone who is not wanted in the peaceful human world. He was too strong.
Exiled, he seeks a job at the Demon King’s Army, which he had defeated and needs to be rebuilt.
The Army had many problems: too much work, financial troubles, etc. Leo starts to make things better using his power.
Leo encounters Echidna again, and asks her why she invaded the human world. There was an unexpected story—!
This is the comic version of the Japanese novel which won one of the major online prizes for novels!
