The previously announced Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The Stairway to Adulthood TV special anime revealed a new trailer on Tuesday. The latest trailer features the opening theme song by Masayuki Suzuki ft. Aoi Koga. The anime will premiere on December 31, 2025.
Studio A-1 Pictures animated all three seasons of the series. The first season premiered in 2019 then the second season aired in 2020, and the third season started in 2022. The series also received an anime film, The First Kiss That Never Ends, which premiered in theaters in December 2022. A live-action film adaptation was also released in September 2019.
The anime is based on the manga series by Aka Akasaka and was launched in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015. The manga was then switched to the publisher’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in March 2016. The manga ended in November 2022 with 28 volumes in total and surpassed 22 million circulating copies worldwide. Viz Media licenses the manga in English, and they describe the plot as follows:
