KAMITSUBAKI City Under Construction anime revealed the second main trailer ahead of its July 3, 2025 premiere date. The new trailer features the opening theme song “Utahime” (“Songstress”), which is performed by the virtual artist group V.W.P (Virtual Witch Phenomenon). Voice actor Hikaru Midorikawa also joined the voice cast as a mysterious character.

The series is an original project developed by KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, a creative label with a focus on YouTube-based content. It was first announced in January 2025. The previous updates were revealed during the AnimeJapan 2025 event, where the first main trailer and key visual were shown on the White Stage. Studio SMDE is handling the animation.
The main cast features members of V.W.P: KAF, RIM, Harusaruhi, Isekaijoucho, and KOKO, all of whom voice their respective characters in the anime. The main anime staff includes Soki Tsukishima (world-building, supervision, and original scenario), Kodai Kakimoto (director and series composition), and PALOW (character design).
In addition to the main cast, the voice cast also includes Ayane Sakura, Miyu Tomita, Yohei Azakami, Shuichiro Umeda, Mai Todo, and Shizuka Ito. Prior to the television broadcast, a special theatrical edition titled KAMITSUBAKI City Under Construction: Witch’s Daughter -Witchling- began a limited two-week run in Japanese theaters on June 13, 2025.
