KanColle: Kantai Collection Season 2 revealed that it will premiere in November of this year, 7 years after the initial announcement in 2015. Studio ENGI is animating the sequel. A key visual was revealed as well, and you can check it out below:
Kantai Collection is based on a web browser gacha game developed by Kadokawa Games and released in 2013. Two years later, it received an anime adaptation of 12 episodes produced by studio Diomedéa (Domestic Girlfriend) and directed by Keizou Kusakawa (Happy Sugar Life). In 2016, Kantai Collection released a movie focusing on the adventures of Fubuki, Mutsuki, and Kaga after episode 3.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold!
