The Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai anime has released two new visuals, as well as details on the additional cast. The anime, listed for 20 episodes, will begin airing this April and will be animated by Studio Pierrot. The additional cast includes:
- Rina Honnizumi as Asebi
- Hiroki Nanami as Hamayu
- Ayaka Fukuhara as Masuho no Susuki
- Rie Kugimiya as Shiratama
The previously announced main cast are Mutsumi Tamura as Yukiya and Miyu Irino as Wakamiya. Yoshiaki Kyogoku is directing the series, with Yukiko Yamamuro writing the script. Meanwhile, Takumo Norita is designing the characters and Eishi Segawa is composing the music.
The official website for the anime series describes the story as:
YUKIYA is the lackluster second son of a regional boss in the North House territory. His younger brother has overtaken him in academics. He is no good at sword battle, either. Not that this ever bothers him. So it comes as a shock when this boy, who claims to have no ambition whatsoever, is the one chosen to attend the Imperial Prince in Court–. What awaits YUKIYA and his new master is intrigue, murder, a mysterious drug, and invasion from an unexpected enemy. Can they save the world of Yatagarasu (three-legged crows of Japanese myth)?
The Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai anime adaptation adapts a novel series of the same name by Chisato Abe, and is the second installment of the Yatagarasu fantasy novel series. A manga adaptation by Natsumi Matsuzaki began serialization in 2020 in Kodansha’s Evening magazine, before being moved to Comic Days app in 2021. The prequel, Karasu ni Hitoe wa Niawanai was also serialized in the manga format on the Comic Days platform from 2018 to 2020.
