Karen From ClariS Announces Graduation From the Project

Karen has announced that she will graduate from the ClariS project after being part of it for 10 years since late 2014. She had joined after one of the founding members, Alice, left that year, and had been the second half of the duo together with Clara. They moved to the Sacra Music record label under Sony Music Entertainment Japan in 2017. Karen will graduate after the ClariS AUTUMN TOUR 2024 ~ Via Fortuna tour, which will take place from October 26 to November 10 in Japan.

To everyone who has always supported us,

I, Karen of ClariS, have decided to graduate from ClariS after completing the “ClariS AUTUMN TOUR 2024 ~ Via Fortuna ~.” I am sorry for surprising everyone who has always loved us with this sudden announcement.

The reason for my graduation is that I want to get married and build a warm family as I grow older. This is another one of my dreams that I wish to fulfill.

Ever since I was young, I had the dream of “making many people smile.” Meeting the best partner in Clara and delivering songs together as ClariS for the past 10 years has been a truly precious and invaluable time for me.

I have had the opportunity to meet so many people, and the circle of gratitude has expanded widely. Clara and I will continue to pursue our dreams. The fact that ClariS has grown so much and has been a special existence for me will never change.

Although my time left is short, I hope to deliver my feelings of gratitude and sincerity to everyone. To all our fans, I would be happy if you could continue to warmly watch over us until the very end.

ClariS – Karen

Since Karen joined, some of their new songs were “Hitorigoto” (2017) from Eromanga Sensei, “Shiori” (2017) from Owarimonogatari, and “Prism” from Luminous Witches (2022), among many others. The remaining member, Clara, also commented on Karen’s graduation:
