The official Twitter account for the Kingdom anime has announced that season 5 will premiere in January 2024. The announcement came after the season 4 finale finished broadcasting in Japan, and you can see the announcement video:

Yasushisa Hara writes the original Kingdom shonen manga, which started serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2006. Sui Ishida, Tokyo Ghoul author, was involved in the project as Hara’s assistant. The first anime adaptation by Pierrot and IKIF+ premiered in 2012. Pierrot animated the second season and was joined by St. Signpost on the third. Season 4 ran for a total of 26 episodes from April 2022, and was also produced by Pierrot and St. Signpost. Crunchyroll streams the anime, and they describe the story:
Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou—a boy who will one day become emperor!
