Tomohito Oda’s Komi Can’t Communicate manga released volume 28 on Wednesday. The volume compiles chapters 364-376 as well as a bonus chapter. The official Twitter account of the series posted a photo of the volume’s physical edition with a figure of Shoko Komi in her school uniform.
Tomohito Oda launched the Komi Can’t Communicate manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in May 2016, and released the first compiled volume in September 2016. The series inspired a live-action TV drama adaptation that aired on NHK from September to November 2021 with a total of 8 episodes, and a TV anime adaptation animated by OLM TEAM KOJIMA. The first season aired from October to December 2021 and the second episode aired from April to June 2022. Both seasons had 12 episodes. Overseas, Netflix is streaming the anime exclusively.
Viz Media licensed the manga for English releases and published the first volume in June 2019. The latest, 22nd, volume was released in December 2022, and the 23rd volume is available for pre-order with a release date set for February 14, 2023. The official website describes the plot of the debut volume as:
Timid Tadano is a total wallflower, and that’s just the way he likes it. But all that changes when he finds himself alone in a classroom on the first day of high school with the legendary Komi. He quickly realizes she isn’t aloof—she’s just super awkward. Now he’s made it his mission to help her on her quest to make 100 friends!
