The long-awaited anime adaptation of Komi Can’t Communicate has revealed a new key visual and a PV, along with a release date. The series begins airing on October 6, 2021.

The new PV featured the ending song for the anime, which is titled “Hikare Inochi” by Kitri. Kitri is a unit composed out of two sisters who sing, compose, and play the piano. They are also going to perform a special song titled “Sympathy”, which is going to be the ending theme for the first episode of the anime. Watch the full trailer below:
Komi Can’t Communicate ranked 8th in the “Manga We Want to See Animated” list from AnimeJapan 2021.
Studio OLM (Pokemon, Berserk) is animating the series.
The main cast includes:
- Aoi Koga as Shouko Komi
- Gakuto Kajiwara as Hitohito Tadano
- Rie Murakawa as Najimi Osana
The additional cast has also been revealed. Rina Hidaka (Ren Yamai), Rumi Okubo (Omoharu Nakanaka), and Yuikyo Fuji (Himiko Agari) are starring in the anime, along with Noriko Hidaka who is narrating.

Komi Can’t Communicate is Japanese manga series by Tomohito Oda. Shogakukan is still publishing it since May 2016 in Weekly Shonen Sunday. The anime adaptation was announced on May 11, 2021.
Kazuki Kawagoe (Beyblade Burst God) is directing the anime, while Ayumu Watanabe (Doraemon) is serving as the chief director. In addition, Deko Akao (Noragami, Higehiro, Tanmoshi, Vanitas) is doing series composition, with Atsuko Nakajima on character designs.
Komi Can’t Communicate synopsis:
I want to talk, but I can’t. If people found out about this anxiety, what would I do? Komi is a girl whose beauty turns the heads of everyone around her, but she suffers from social anxiety. She has a lot of trouble communicating, and to the people around her, she comes off as unapproachable.
“How do I strike up a conversation?” “Once I do, then what do I say?” Komi can’t help but get caught up on such questions.
This story follows the school life of Komi and Tadano, who she befriends. Komi may be trembling from her heart all the way to her fingertips, but her goal is to make 100 friends!
