The Spring 2024 Anime Awards have concluded, and the Best Girl category was won by one of the most popular female characters of all time, Kurumi Tokisaki from Date a Live V. Kurumi took 7.48% of the votes, ranking over Sylphiette and Roxy from Mushoku Tensei Season 2. A total of 18,721 people voted in the category, while you can also check all the other results.

Kurumi’s popularity has been unrivaled for years. She also won the Best Girl title in Spring 2022, ranking above other big hitters like Yor Forger and Kaguya Shinomiya. She also won the title for that entire year, with Marin Kitagawa placing second.
Date a Live V also took the awards for both the opening and ending theme songs, best ship or couple, best boy, as well as the seiyuu awards.
GEEKTOYS returned to animate the 5th season, after previously working on season 4 of the popular anime series, which is based on Koshi Tachibana’s Date a Live light novel series. Fujimi Shobo serialized it with Tsunako’s illustrations from 2012 to 2020, and it has a total of 22 volumes in circulation.
Yen Press is publishing the Date a Live light novel series in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
Ordinary high school boy Shido discovers a mysterious girl at ground zero of a recent spacequake. Shido learns, through his sister Kotori, that the girl is one of the Spirits: mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes. Shido is recruited to help “seal” the sprits and end their threat to mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a spirit—is to make her fall in love with you.
