A life-sized Makima statue will be exhibited at a pre-sale event for the Chainsaw Man x Ground Y collaboration. The event is taking place at the Mitsukoshi’s Isetan Shinjuku store and the collaboration line, which features Chainsaw Man-inspired apparel, is described as ageless and genderless.
According to the Chainsaw Man manga, Makima is around 173cm tall. In the anime version, she is voiced by Tomori Kusunoki in Japanese and Suzie Yeung in English.
The collaboration includes clothes (shirts, jackets, pants) and jewelry, but also merchandise such as cups, mugs, tea sets and more. Check out the announcement video:
Studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime, with Ryu Nakayama as the director. Kazutaka Sugiyama is doing character designs, while Kiyotaka Oshiyama is credited for creature designs. Kensuke Ushio is composing the music.The cast includes:
- Kikunosuke Toya as Denji
- Fairouz Ai as Power
- Shogo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa
The anime is based on a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first part originally ran from 2018 to 2020 and ended after 97 chapters and 11 volumes. The continuation, dubbed Part 2, began on July 13 on the Shonen Jump+ platform.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
