Everyone’s favorite assassins, Chisato and Takina, will be taking on newfound enemies in the recently announced Lycoris Recoil and Magia Record collaboration event. Taking place in the Magia Record mobile game—a spinoff of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica universe—the series protagonists from Lycoris Recoil will make their magical girl debut soon, with further details about the event to be announced.
Eager fans on Reddit have speculated the event might tie into Chisato’s official birthday on September 23, which the series celebrated the day before the series finale in 2022.

Magia Record is no stranger to anime-themed collaborations, with characters from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Monogatari becoming available through limited-time events. Magia Record is currently available only in Japan after the North American version of the game was de-listed from storefronts in 2019.
Lycoris Recoil anime was voted by fans as Anime Corner’s Best Anime of the Summer 2022 Season, with a new anime production announced in February 2023. The first volume’s Blu-ray release was also a commercial success, becoming the “Best-Selling TV Anime Disc” in Japan by selling nearly 30,000 units as of November 19, 2022.
