Made in Abyss Season 2 Reveals Episode 2 Preview

After a somewhat dark premiere, Made in Abyss Season 2 revealed preview images and a synopsis for episode 2. The episode is titled “Capital of the Unreturned” and is set to air on Tuesday, July 12

The official website describes the plot of the episode as:
After a battle with Bondrewd, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi finally arrive at the at the sixth layer of the Abyss, called Capital of the Unreturned. Riko observes structures and creatures there with great interest, as they are something she has never seen before. She writers another letter for her friends at the orphanage and goes to send it, but finds herself looking at a gigantic protozoan. A suspicious creature creeps up behind the group as they continue their exploration…

The staff for the episode includes:

• Script: Hideyuki Kurata (in charge of series composition for the second season)
• Storyboard: Masayuki Kojima (also director for the second season)
• Episode director: Hiroki Koike
• Animation director: Koniyuki Ito

Kinema Citrus is animating the sequel to the anime adaptation of Akihito Tsukushi’s manga. HIDIVE is streaming the entirety of the anime series. The watch order for Made in Abyss anime is:
