Neon Genesis Evangelion is a popular anime series directed by Hideaki Anno and produced by Gainax. It originally aired in 1995. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, it follows the story of Shinji Ikari, a 14-year-old boy recruited by the mysterious organization NERV to pilot a giant mecha called “Evangelion” to fight against monsters known as “Angels.”

The franchise includes multiple films, reboots, and spin-offs, including the recent Rebuild of Evangelion series, which reimagined the original story while adding new elements. It ended with the Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time movie, which was released in 2021 as the final installment.
