Mel From Arcane Joins League of Legends as Playable Champion, LeBlanc Gets Visual Update

Riot has announced that Mel from Arcane will be joining League of Legends as part of the “Welcome to Noxus” update, along with a visual update for LeBlanc, a new skin for Mordekaiser, and a lot more. They previously shared a 5-minute cinematic by Fortiche, which also served as inspiration for parts of the update.

Details about Mel will be revealed tomorrow, but they shared that she will bring along a new mechanic – reflection. The video shows her being able to reflect projectiles, which will make fans of Arcane think of Maddie.

Besides skill-shot projectiles like Jinx’s ultimate and Lux’s snare, she will also be able to reflect skills like Veigar’s ultimate to the champion that cast it. You can watch the entire video below.

Talking about LeBlanc, they confirmed what was already clear based on the cinematic – a visual update is coming for the champion.

Noxus was previously also teased at the end of Arcane Season 2. The finale featured the appearance of a raven, which is the trademark of a champion that is of critical importance for Noxus, Swain. While there were no news yet of a new animated series, one of the creators did mention Noxus as one of the three major areas they are exploring for future shows, along with Demacia and Ionia.

Arcane first premiered in November 2021, while Season 2 followed in November 2024. Each of them ran for 9 episodes over 3 parts, with the finale releasing on November 23. It also received numerous visuals and trailers featuring the main characters as part of the promotion efforts.
